2. Joining the library

2.1  You must join the library to borrow its jigsaws.

2.2  You can join the library if (a) you are an adult living and/or working in the Woodley area and (b) you have been invited to join (see section 2.3).

2.3  You can be invited to join the library (a) by one of its members or (b) by a local organisation you belong to (eg. a club or a church) that is affiliated to the library.

2.4  There is no joining fee.

2.4  To apply to join the library, fill in and submit a 'Join the library' form (see menu on the Home page). The form asks you for:

  • Your name

  • Your email address (all communication with the library is by email)

  • The name of the member/organisation who invited you to join

  • The library stations (see section x.y) you can conveniently use to collect and return jigsaws

2.5  The library will answer your application to join by email.

2.6  Once you have joined the library, you can remain a member for as long as you wish (provided you treat both the library's jigsaws and its staff with proper respect).

2.7  If you cease to have an association with Woodley, please leave the library by submitting a 'Leave the library' form (see menu on the Home page).

3. Borrowing a jigsaw

3.1  This is how you borrow a jigsaw:

  • You browse the catalogue of jigsaws (starting on the Home page) and choose one (click ?on? its Borrow button).
  • You submit a Borrow Jigsaw Request form. The form simply asks you for your name and the title of the jigsaw.
  • The library sends you an email accepting your request - providing the jigsaw is available (see section 3.5).
  • When the library has deposited the jigsaw at one of your nominated stations (see section x.y), it sends you an email informing you that it is ready for collection.
  • At your convenience, you go and collect the jigsaw. You have 7 days to do this.
  • You do the jigsaw and then return it to any of your nominated stations.

3.2  A form accompanies every jigsaw you borrow. Please fill it in and return it with the jigsaw. The form asks you ...

3.3  You should return every jigsaw you borrow within one month of collecting it. The library will start sending you reminders if you overstep this time limit.

3.4  There is no borrowing fee and there is no fine for returning jigsaws late.

3.5  Once a week, the library publishes a list of the jigsaws that are currently unavailable (selected menus). It's a snapshot, but you might benefit from consulting it. The main reason a jigsaw is unavailable is that it's out on loan.

3.6  At any time between submitting a Borrow Jigsaw Request form and collecting a jigsaw, you can abort the borrowing process by submitting a Cancel Borrow form (Home menu).

4. Borrowing a jigsaw

4.2  To borrow a jigsaw from the library, someone would:

  • go to the library's website, browse the catalogue of jigsaws, choose one and request it by filling in an online form.
  • receive an email acknowledging their request
  • wait for a second email informing them that their chosen jigsaw was ready for collection from a 'library station' (somewhere in Woodley).
  • at their convenience, go to the station and pick up the jigsaw.
  • do the jigsaw and then return it to the station.
